Her path took a transformative turn during a challenging period when she faced her mother's battle with stage 4 cancer in 2021, a journey that deeply impacted her life. Amid supporting her mother, Luchi was confronted with her own diagnosis of breast cancer, navigating an emotional landscape of fear and resilience. Following her mother's passing in 2022, Luchi began her own fight against cancer, grappling with the overwhelming waves of grief and uncertainty.
In search of healing and connection, Luchi discovered the therapeutic embrace of the outdoors. It was during these moments of reflection and clarity that the idea for HikeHER Dallas blossomed—a faith-centered hiking initiative designed to empower women, particularly those affected by breast cancer.
